Construction continues on the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World, with some new additions on the seventh floor and a toilet flying overhead.
Lakeshore Lodge Construction
A crane has been parked on the Floatmaster barges in the water for at least a week. More cranes are on land to transport construction equipment and materials.
Some more steel framework has been installed for guest room walls throughout the building.
Concrete columns with rebar sticking up are the beginnings of another floor. The resort will be 10 stories tall, according to a permit.
Another full floor is complete at this end of the building. The second, third, and fourth floors have wall frames.
Sheathing covers parts of the frames on the second floor. The lack of frames on the first floor may mean it will have a different layout, perhaps with a shop, restaurant, or other offering.
Closer to the center of the building is more sheathing outlining the balcony doorways.
The corner of this building now appears to be a diagonal section that may house either an elevator or emergency stairs, since it has a different layout that the rest of the rooms. It is also possible the rooms closer to the corner will be suites with larger windows.
Since our last construction update, even more work is taking place on the ground near the left corner of the building. Multiple trucks have been parked, and some structures are now outlined with plywood.
Some of the new work taking place on the land to the side of the hotel may be related to the Lakeshore Lodge’s rumored feature pool with a lazy river.
There are now multiple structures visible from the lake near the edge of the construction walls. The space has multiple levels that will likely be accessed via stairs. Current rumors suggest these may become outdoor cabanas.
This work continues up to the edge of the Fort Wilderness construction walls, taking up a section of what used to be the guest beach. There are several concrete posts and pipes piled up near the walls as well.
Instead of the crane moving more walls or a dumpster, the latest flying attraction at Walt Disney World is a toilet.

The standard green portable toilet was attached to the end of the crane with several thick chains, one of which was hanging down from the bottom to help guide it into position.
Zooming in closer to the interior construction, there are several stacks of what appear to be square-shaped air ducts waiting to be installed.
Up by the top of the building, work progresses on what will be the seventh floor on this side.
Interestingly, the structures on this seventh floor appear to be different than the walls and supports on the previous floors with standard guest rooms. The support columns are much thicker and appear to be a bit taller.
A few sections of air ducts have already been installed on the lower floors, where they are attached to the ceiling in the middle of what will likely be a hallway.
The first four floors are much further along than the upper floors, which are still waiting for the wall supports to be installed.
This black pipe on the right corner is the first sign of plumbing possibly taking place in the building.
Looking from the opposite direction, this seventh floor has some metal connection points added to the concrete support columns that are not present on some of the lower floors. It is possible the Disney Lakeshore Lodge will have a unique architectural feature on the higher levels.
Another feature unique to the seventh floor is the addition of plywood walkways around the outside of the corner, similar to a balcony.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge replaces the previous plans in this area for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Disney has not released any new concept art for the building since the project changed names, so it is currently unknown if the finished hotel will have the same style as the previously-released concept art.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge is expected to open in 2027.
