Disney shared a video about casting the new Disney Cruise Line “Hercules” show, including a first look at the Hydra and Titan puppets.

First Look at Hercules Puppets
The video was posted by Disney Live Entertainment on Instagram and features show directors Kevin and Marcel discussing the casting process. Disney Cruise Line opened auditions for “Disney Hercules” in January. The Broadway-style stage show will debut with the new Disney Destiny ship this November.

The directors also held a puppet workshop at Curry Studios. As previously teased with concept art, “Disney Hercules” will feature a giant multi-headed Hydra puppet. Clips showcased a large 3D unpainted version of a Hydra head, puppeteered by a performer where the neck would be.
Another clip showed what appeared to be some of the hydra’s extra heads. The 3D puppet may be the first that Hercules fights, while these are among the others that grow. The heads are flatter, and the puppeteers are inside a collapsible tube.

They also mentioned Titan puppets, showing a quick clip of hand-held versions of two of the Titan heads. We don’t know if these are the final puppets or prototypes. Disney Cruise Line previously said the Titans would be brought to life with technology that has never been used in a theatrical setting.
The puppets are designed by Michael Curry, who also worked on “Disney The Tale of Moana,” which featured Te Fiti and Te Ka puppets. Disney Cruise Line hopes to “one-up” those puppets with “Disney Hercules.”
We already know Corey Bradford will play Hercules in the new show. He performed “Go the Distance” at a media panel in April, which you can hear in our video below.
Disney Cruise Line had a “Hercules” stage show many years ago, but this will be a new version of the story. In addition to “Go the Distance,” it will feature the songs “Zero to Hero” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love.” It will also add the ballad “Shooting Star,” which was cut from the animated film. Like in the film, the Muses will tell the story.
The other stage shows on the Disney Destiny will be “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.” The ship’s maiden voyage sets off on November 20, 2025, out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
