A new play set inspired by the modern Star Tours vehicles will be released by the Disney Store on May the 4th.

The new Starspeeder 1000 vehicle play set is an updated version of the Starspeeder 3000 set released last year. Though essentially the same toy, this new vehicle is painted to reflect the 2011 update to Star Tours that turned it into Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Red and white Star Wars vehicle toy with open side showing rows of blue seats and a small R2-D2 figure inside.

Instead of gray with blue stripes, the vehicle is mostly orange and white.

A gold robot sits alone among blue seats inside a red and white, futuristic vehicle or spacecraft interior.

Other than the paint job, the biggest difference between this set and the Starspeeder 3000 is the inclusion of a C-3PO figure instead of Captain Rex (a.k.a. RX-24 or DJ R-3X). With the 2011 update to Star Tours, C-3PO replaced Rex as the ride’s pilot.

The seats inside the Starspeeder are blue instead of orange. They can hold up to 25 3.75″-scaled figures and even have elastic seatbelts.

C-3PO and R2-D2 toy figures are inside a red and beige plastic spaceship playset cockpit.

In addition to the C-3PO figure, the toy plays C-3PO dialogue. An R2-D2 figure is also included and fits into a slot on top of the speeder. Scenes from Star Tours: The Adventures Continue play on the 4.75″ LCD screen in the cockpit.

Other electronic features include opening doors playing the Star Tours chime, headlights, thruster lights, and cannon lights.

The play set will be available on DisneyStore.com at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET on May the 4th. Disney didn’t announce a price but the Starspeeder 3000 was $300. Check out our TikTok of the original toy below.

Other merchandise available or coming soon to Disney Store for May the 4th include a Spirit Jersey, dated collectibles, LEGO sets, and the Hoth collection.
