The Disneyland Hotel is decked out for the Disneyland 70th Celebration with a new entrance rug, balloons, decals, and more.

Balloon towers line the entrance rug leading to the hotel’s front doors. The towers are mostly made of silver balloons with pink, purple, blue, yellow, and orange star-shaped balloons.

Some of the colorful balloons feature images of Mickey and Minnie. They are topped with 70th anniversary medallions featuring the blue and purple “70” logo with pink castle towers.

A balloon archway is also next to the entrance, over statues of Mickey and Minnie. 70th anniversary medallions are on the sides of the archway.
The balloons may be temporary just for the opening weekend of the Disneyland 70th Celebration, which officially began on May 16.

As for the rug, it’s dark blue and dotted with colorful stars. A thin dark purple border is followed by gold and light blue stripes around the rug’s edge. Sleeping Beauty Castle is at the front end of the rug with a “70” medallion pictured above its entrance — just like in real life.

Images of a pirate ship and Dumbo are flying above the castle. They’re followed by a large diamond-shaped 70th anniversary emblem. Fireworks are pictured at the far end of the rug with the three fairies — Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather — from “Sleeping Beauty.”

Diamond-shaped decals are on the automatic doors. One features the 70th anniversary logo, the other reads, “Celebrate Happy” — the motto of the celebration. Gold stars are across the doors and windows.

Just inside the hotel is a large mural depicting Mickey & Friends celebrating the milestone anniversary. They are in their colorful 70th anniversary costumes, gathered around a layered cake similar to the cake made by the fairies in “Sleeping Beauty.” Disneyland Park iconography like Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world,” and The Haunted Mansion is around the edges of the mural.
The mural has “Disneyland Hotel 70” across the top. Though the 70th celebration is mostly focused on Disneyland Park, Disneyland Hotel did open in 1955, too. The theme park opened on July 17 while the hotel opened on October 5. It was originally owned and operated by Jack Wrather under an agreement with Disney. Disney bought the hotel in 1988.
