“Look what we found this morning on Sleeping Beauty Castle!” Disney Parks wrote on social media with a picture of the medallion. “9 Days until the Disneyland 70th Celebration begins!”

The medallion hangs on colorful chiffon drapery and is surrounded by blue and pink filigree. The golden “70” sits against a blue and pink floral design.

The banners lining the castle’s bridge have not yet been changed to the matching 70th anniversary banners seen in concept art (below).

The Sleeping Beauty Castle, adorned with 70th anniversary decor, stands vibrant amidst trees and a fountain. Under the clear sky, birds soar above its colorful banners, celebrating the enchantment of this special milestone.

The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration officially begins on May 16 and runs through the summer of 2026. The resort’s actual 70th anniversary is July 17, 2025.

Other 70th anniversary decorations have gone up around Downtown Disney District and the Disneyland Park entrance. A castle-inspired sculpture is under construction on the Disneyland Resort esplanade.

Some 70th merchandise is already available, and there will be a pre-sale of more merch for Magic Key holders this week.

New offerings coming to Disneyland Resort include “World of Color Happiness!” with a Muppets pre-show, a character cavalcade with Duffy and ShellieMay, the Key to Disneyland interactive experience, and a guided tour. “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” featuring a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic, will premiere on July 17 alongside a new exhibit with never-before-seen art and furniture from Walt’s apartment. “Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream” will come to Disneyland. Paint the Night parade and “Wondrous Journeys” are both returning. There will be special food and beverage items.
