Disneyland Resort announced more details of their 70th anniversary celebration’s special entertainment.
“World of Color Happiness!” at Disney California Adventure Park

The previously announced “World of Color Happiness” is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day dedication of Disneyland: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”
A special pre-show before “World of Color Happiness” will feature more than a dozen of The Muppets. Under the guidance of Joe the Legal Weasel, they’ll deliver a message through projections and fountains.
The nighttime spectacular will explore “happy” through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other Emotions of Pixar’s “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” The Emotions manifest music and moments from other favorite Pixar films, including “Turning Red” and “The Incredibles,” as well as Walt Disney Animation Studios stories, including “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” and “Encanto.”
Guests are encouraged to sing and dance along to the interactive show. In addition to classic Disney songs, Boyz II Men will perform a rendition of “Rainbow Connection” and FITZ — frontman and namesake of Fitz and the Tantrums — will debut a new original song just for “World of Color” titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”
“Paint the Night” Parade at Disneyland Park
As long-rumored and finally confirmed, Paint the Night Parade will return to Disneyland on May 16, the start date of the 70th anniversary celebration.
Anna and Elsa will rejoin the parade on the “Frozen” inspired float from the parade’s original run. This was replaced by a float inspired by “The Incredibles” when the parade performed at Disney California Adventure in 2018. Disney confirmed other featured films will include “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “Toy Story,” The Little Mermaid,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
“Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland Park
“Wondrous Journeys,” which debuted for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, will return to Disneyland. The show features state-of-the-art projection effects on Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America. On select nights, the show will be enhanced with fireworks.
“Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” Parade at Disney California Adventure Park
“Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” returns to Disney California Adventure this summer with dynamic and colorful floats, and more than two dozen Pixar characters. These include characters from “Luca,” “Turning Red,” and “Up.”
“Tapestry of Happiness” at Disneyland Park
A new projection show will debut on the façade of “it’s a small world.” “Tapestry of Happiness” will create an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments, and memories brought to life in the unique, artistic style of Mary Blair. It will feature the original 70th celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy,” along with nods to recognizable Disneyland tunes from across the decades.
Disney said “Tapestry of Happiness” will be a “visual love letter to Disneyland, bringing all of us together through memories of The Happiest Place on Earth. It will remind us that no matter how old we are or where we call home, we all come together in this magical place through the eyes of our inner child, finding happiness in a unique and personal way.”
“Coco” figures will also be added to “it’s a small world.”
Mickey and Friends’ New 70th Attire
After initially just sharing Mickey and Minnie’s new costumes, and then a brief preview of the Fab Five’s looks, Disney released a full look at Mickey and Friends’ 70th anniversary attire. They’ll appear in Town Square wearing these custom colorful and sparkly looks.
The characters will appear in these costumes in a 70th anniversary cavalcade also featuring Duffy and ShellieMay.
