Disneyland Resort has announced the performance times for the returning “Paint the Night” parade, new “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” and returning “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks spectacular at Disneyland Park, as well as for “World of Color Happiness!” at Disney California Adventure. All return or debut on May 16, the star of the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration.

The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade

The Disneyland Resort website now lists daily show times for this new cavalcade as 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. It will feature Mickey and Friends in their 70th anniversary costumes, alongside Max, Disney Princesses, Heroes, Duffy, and ShellieMay. According to concept art, there will be one float, plus two small bike carts for the bears.

Duffy originated as the Disney Bear, created for the 2002 opening of Once Upon a Toy at Walt Disney World. When the bear wasn’t popular, Disney gave him to the Oriental Land Company, owners of Tokyo Disney Resort. He was introduced as Duffy at Tokyo DisneySea in 2005 and proved incredibly successful, spawning a franchise of characters and merchandise. Tokyo DisneySea is currently celebrating 20 years of Duffy.

Paint the Night Parade

According to the Disneyland website, the Paint the Night parade will be performed at 8:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. each evening for the foreseeable future.

Paint the Night is a follow-up to the Main Street Electrical Parade, with grand floats and over a million LED lights. The first version debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2014 for the park’s 9th anniversary.

The Disneyland version debuted in May 2015 for the park’s 60th. Its original run ended in September 2016 but it returned for the holiday season, running until January 2017. It then ran at Disney California Adventure from April 2018 to November 2018. For the Disney California Adventure version, a new “The Incredibles” float replaced the “Frozen” float.

“Frozen” will return for this version of the parade. Its lead float will be updated with a 70th anniversary design. A Paint the Night Dining Package is available to book.
