Some of the bathrooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort have been refurbished, and in addition to the new theming, the resort has added its first companion restroom.
Contemporary Resort Refurbished Restrooms
The newly-refreshed restrooms are located on the second floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, near the check-in desk for California Grill. Both the men’s and women’s restrooms have been refurbished in the same style.
The new Contemporary Resort restrooms have blue tiles on all of the walls surrounding the sink alcove. The sinks are all connected in a carved semicircle style, matching the new mirrors with a rectangular base and a rounded top.
All of the mirrors in the bathroom, including the sink mirrors and the taller mirror by the doorway, are now shaped with a semicircle on the top and a square bottom. All of the mirrors also have new backlights that illuminate the wall around the mirror’s edge.
The sinks have new modern water faucets made of a single piece of curved silver metal. The faucets are touch-free with different sensors for soap and water on either side. Since these faucets have the soap dispenser built inside, there are no regular soap dispensers on the sides of the sinks or the walls anymore.
The doors for the individual bathroom stalls have been replaced to match the semicircle shape of the mirrors. The doors are painted to look like they are made of wood and have thicker silver handles. The door locks have more modern features with the color wheel to tell guests standing outside whether they are occupied or empty.
Apart from the walls by the sink, the other areas of the restroom are covered in off-white tiles. The floor is standard rectangular tiles in straight lines, while the walls have more textured tiles with small ridges.
Companion Bathroom
While the restrooms on the Contemporary Resort’s second floor have always existed, the refurbishment has also added a new companion or family bathroom. A nearby Cast Member informed us that this is the first official companion bathroom in the entire resort.
The companion bathroom has similar styling to the refurbished restrooms, though the entire space is covered in the blue tiles from the sink area. The single sink is in the same style as the other restrooms, with the new silver faucet and the backlit curved mirror.
Most of the other refurbishment work in Disney’s Contemporary Resort has been taking place in the nearby Bay Lake Tower. A project to refresh all of the tower’s DVC rooms has been ongoing since last year, and Disney recently announced the Bay Lake Tower pool will be closing for a refurbishment starting in 2026.
