Bay Lake Tower, home to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is undergoing a room refurbishment. As part of this, some of the suites are getting new murphy beds, like many of the other DVC resorts. We spotted construction crew members moving part of the bedframes in and revealing the artwork.

Two construction workers in yellow vests move a large box outside a building, reminiscent of the craftsmanship around Bay Lake Tower. Surrounding foliage and a partially visible structure complete the scene.

The year-long refurbishment was announced in April 2024, with work starting in September. It’s set to be complete in September 2025. Furniture was cleared from balconies and rooms and crews have covered windows with tarp, possibly to protect them from fresh paint.

Details for the looks of the refurbished rooms haven’t been announced. Guest rooms in the main building were redone with Incredibles theming in 2021, but it’s unclear if Bay Lake Tower will also get a character overlay.

Two construction workers wearing high-visibility vests and helmets are near a large, wrapped object outside a building. One worker is holding a tool amidst various materials, while the other seems to be discussing plans for what might become part of Contemporary's Bay Lake Tower.

Disney has been gradually switching from sofa beds to murphy beds in the DVC villas. There’s often art on the outside of the frame that sits above the couch when not in use. There’s also usually art inside to hang over the bed when you open it, but that wasn’t visible when we saw them hauling frames.

The exterior art features Cinderella Castle in a mid-century modern style, featuring bold colors with striking white in contrast. The art appears to be inspired by Mary Blair’s iconic style, which is featured heavily at the resort. While it’s possible that Incredibles Easter eggs will be revealed upon closeup inspection of the art, it’s at least not overtly themed.

Bay Lake Tower opened at Walt Disney World in 2009, and is home to 429 DVC villas. It connects to the original building via a foot bridge, allowing Bay Lake Tower guests to utilize the monorail transportation.
