After closing in February, the former Studio Sweets location at Universal Studios Florida has transformed into an extension of the Universal Studios Store.

Universal Studios Store Expansion

Studio Sweets was attached to Universal Studios Store, on the corner closest to the park’s entrance. After crews removed the former store’s signage and left the Universal Studios Store plaques around the doors, we speculated that this corner would be incorporated into the regular merchandise store.

Along with the remaining Universal Studios Plaques, neon “35 years of Universal Studios Florida” window decals have been added to the facade.

Another neon decal showcasing some of the franchises featured on merchandise has also been added to the exterior.

Inside, many franchises and fandoms are represented. One front shelf focuses on Hello Kitty merchandise items such as t-shirts, plushies, and Loungefly bags.

There is also a large “Jaws” 50th Anniversary display with decor and merchandise.

Several items from the “Jaws” 50th anniversary collection are available as Universal Orlando Resort celebrates the classic summer blockbuster turning 50. When entering the “Jaws” section of the store, there is a  “Visit Amity Island”  poster displayed on a sunset-inspired painted wall.

On the other side of the wall is an enlarged “Greetings from Amity Island” postcard. The famous “Jaws” shark is seen on yet another wall alongside mannequins sporting the anniversary merchandise.

Looking toward the exit, there are several more sections full of merchandise, including some stand-alone racks, mannequins, and wall displays.

Among the merchandise is a selection from the 35 Years of Universal Studios Florida retro neon merchandise collection.

More “Jaws” 50th Anniversary merchandise such as a t-shirt, cooler bag, and toys are located in this corner of the store.

Displays focusing on E.T. and Jurassic Park merchandise are marked with round neon signs with simplified logos for each film standing on an upper shelf. These neon logos match some of the art from the retro 35th anniversary collection.

Other franchises represented in the store include “King Kong” and “Back to the Future.”

The store is filled with gold and white details to create a more minimalistic look, likely so that any future merchandise displays and collections will pop against the store’s muted background.

Across the street, Universal Sweets has opened at the entrance of Universal Studios Florida, taking over the former On Location building.
