A popcorn cart located in World Celebration in EPCOT caught fire earlier today, with Cast Members quickly putting out the flames.
Popcorn Cart Catches Fire
A video of the fire incident was shared on Instagram by @travelingwithrobert. In the video, the popcorn cart is seen with smoke pouring out from the section that uses heat to actually pop the popcorn. There were no visible flames reported so far, but Cast Members were seen with fire extinguishers.
The snack cart in question is located close to the Imagination! Pavilion on the right side of EPCOT, near the edge of World Nature and World Celebration.
One of our reporters happened to be in EPCOT and was able to take some pictures shortly after the blaze was confirmed. Within a few minutes, the fire was completely extinguished, and no more smoke was visible.
The rest of the cart remains undamaged, with only the popcorn section showing signs of the fire.
The usually clear glass in the popcorn section of the cart has now been tinted gray and black due to the severe smoke, though no windows were damaged. The vent at the top is also colored black.
The two Cast Members stationed nearby have blocked the popcorn section of the snack cart using stanchions. As of the time of writing, guests are still able to buy drinks and ice cream from the right portion of the cart, but the popcorn is no longer available at this location.
