As part of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebrations, the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade has returned to Disney California Adventure.
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!

“Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” is a daytime parade that debuted in Disney California Adventure as part of Pixar Fest in 2024. Incorporating nearly 30 characters from a number of Pixar animated films, Disney confirmed Better Together would be returning to Disney California Adventure as part of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebrations.
The parade is officially set to return on May 16, which is the official start date for most of the Disneyland 70th anniversary activities. Better Together will run at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Today, May 13, was considered more of a media preview and dress rehearsal, though the parade ran as normal.

The parade begins with a float shaped like a larger version of the iconic Luxo Jr. lamp covered in stickers related to the films represented in the parade.

One of the only major changes to the parade is the addition of a large pink sign with yellow text saying “Live Red Panda Mei” on the front of the float for “Turning Red.”

The next section is themed to the film “Up!” with Russell riding on top of Kevin.

Carl is standing on top of a float decorated with blue and purple flowers, while Dug is placed on the back of the float.

The next float is themed to “Soul,” with a group of musicians representing Joe Gardner’s students.

The other main change to Better Together is that the memories piled underneath the float with Joy and Sadness of “Inside Out” have been repainted. The memory orbs are now much brighter colors with additional shades, potentially referencing the added emotions from “Inside Out 2.”

Following Joy and Sadness, the next float is styled like the town of Portorosso from the film “Luca.”

Giulia rides her scooter above a cresting wave, while Luca and Alberto are floating halfway in the water.

Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone are each driving individual vehicles to represent “The Incredibles.”

Woody from “Toy Story” is perched in the middle of a yellow toy dump truck colored with cloud shapes and quotes from the films.

The final float includes a more general Pixar theme with the Luxo ball repeated on either side.

This float includes a few more characters from multiple films, including Miguel from “Coco,” Buzz Lightyear and Jessie from “Toy Story,” and Mike with Sully from “Monsters Inc.”
Disney has confirmed that both “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” and “Wondrous Journeys” will temporarily pause to make way for the Halloween and Christmas season entertainment offerings, but both will return at a later time. The Disneyland 70th Celebration will continue through the summer of 2026.
Once the parade officially debuts on May 16, the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” dessert party will also be returning.
