“it’s a small world” has reopened at Disneyland Park following its five-month-long refurbishment with new figures of Miguel and Dante from Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.”
“it’s a small world” reopens with new ‘Coco’ Figures
The attraction has been closed since January 2025, and was originally scheduled to reopen in April before being delayed twice to Tuesday, May 13.
As part of the Disneyland Resort 70th anniversary celebration, new figures of Miguel and Dante from “Coco” have been added to the Mexico section of the attraction.

The updated scene features a new marigold bridge running up toward the ceiling from the right side of the scene. In “Coco,” those who have passed cross over a marigold bridge to the Land of the Dead.

Off to the right, just beneath one end of the marigold bridge, Miguel and Dante can be spotted standing on a platform. Miguel wears his mariachi outfit from the end of the animated film and plays his grandfather’s guitar. Dante is presented in his colorful alebrije form.

Miguel is designed in-line with the rest of the Mary Blair-style small world dolls, but Dante retains more of his original design.

Here’s a wide shot look at the new figures on display in their scene.
In addition to the new figures, the attraction also got some plussing overall, thanks to new lighting and a new sound system. Later this summer, a new verse featuring a tribute to the Sherman Brothers will be added to the attraction.
