REVIEW: New Orleans-Inspired Sno-Balls Debut at Disneyland Park

Shannen Ace

Royal Street Veranda at Disneyland Park has new New Orleans-inspired Sno-Balls with your choice of house-made flavored syrup.

New Orleans-Inspired Sno-Ball – $7.49

A cup of shaved ice topped with red syrup sits on a table, with another cup and people blurred in the background.

The sno-balls are shaved ice with the choice of up to two of the following syrups:

  • Pineapple
  • Coconut
  • Cherry
  • Lemon-Lime
  • Strawberry
  • Mango

We don’t think Disney’s quite figured this one out yet. The ice is too chunky to be a snow cone but too crushed to be Hawaiian-style shaved ice. We aren’t sure if this is the consistency of shaved ice in New Orleans, but it tasted weird.

As for the syrup flavors, they’re good. They didn’t taste artificial. We got four out of the six, and here’s how we would rank them, with the best first:

  1. Coconut
  2. Mango
  3. Strawberry
  4. Lemon-Lime

Rating out of 7: 5

Royal Street Veranda also offers sandwiches, biscuits, and a new Strawberry Pecan Salad.

Other new menu items coming to Disneyland Resort on April 30 include fruity beverages, breakfast items, salads, cold brewssavory dishes, and churros. Read our review of the new Breakfast Cheesy Pretzel at Maurice’s Treats.
