Spit Fyre Grill is in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, located near Fyre Drill.

Venue

A dragon-themed restaurant entrance with a large dragon statue and a colorful Spit Fyre Grill sign.

Spit Fyre Grill is a walk-up quick service restaurant made to look like a log building. It has a dragon carving at the peak of the roof and carved dragons on the front. The marquee is set against “flames” from a dragon’s mouth, as, according to the lore of the land, the food here is cooked by an (unseen) dragon.

Food Menu

A wooden-framed Spit Fyre Grill sign displays entrée menu items on a bold purple background.

Food Reviews

Stoick’s Steak Bowl – $19.99

Sticky rice, tenderloin steak, roasted balsamic mushrooms, sweet potato hash, Manchego cheese, and horseradish sauce

A hand holds a tray with Spit Fyre Grill skewered beef, roasted sweet potatoes, rice, and mushrooms on grass.

The steak is cooked to medium. It’s tender. This isn’t a cheap meal, but it’s decent quality for quick-service. We like the rice and there’s lots of it.

Hiccup’s Salmon Bowl – $18.99

Ancient grains, grilled citrus salmon, jicama slaw, blistered cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and avocado

A Spit Fyre Grill cardboard tray of rice, grilled salmon with green sauce, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and veggies.

The salmon is cooked perfectly. The ancient grains taste kind of like Jamaican rice. We preferred these sides to those with the steak.

Rating out of 7: 6

Meatlug’s Chicken Bowl – $16.99

Ancient grains, harissa spice chicken, oven-roasted Brussels sprouts, bell pepper harissa, smoked cheddar, and paprika dressing

A hand holds a tray of grilled chicken skewers with sauce and veggies outdoors, fresh from the Spit Fyre Grill.

This is one of our favorites. The chicken is tender, and the paprika dressing adds a nice spice. The Brussels sprouts and bell peppers are cooked really well.

Astrid’s Shrimp Bowl – $17.99

Sticky rice, tropical BBQ shrimp, grilled Tajín corn, charred broccolini, shaved parmesan, and raspberry vinaigrette

We also love this bowl. It reminds us of Hawaiian garlic shrimp. The corn is good. The cheese adds a bit of saltiness to the rice. We’ll get this again.

Rating out of 7: 7

Valka’s Vegan Bowl – $15.99

Kale spring mix blend, bean salad, pineapple salsa, candy beets, vegan feta, mango, and mint vinaigrette

A hand holds a Spit Fyre Grill paper tray with mixed salads, beets, beans, corn, feta cheese, and rice outdoors.

The bean salad in this bowl is delicious. The vegan cheese is just okay, but if you mix everything together, it won’t detract from the rest of the dish; it will just add some texture. We love the pineapple salsa, and there’s good seasoning throughout.

Drink Review

Snow Wraith – $6.50

Layers of Fanta Piña Colada and blue raspberry ICEE with a color-changing straw

It was so hot when we did our review, we almost didn’t care how this tasted — but it was pretty good. If you close your eyes while you take a drink, you’ll feel like a beach. It’s like being in a surf shop. It is sweet, so kids will like it. The straw turns purple as you sip.

Overall

This is a great place to come to get meat and veggies. We wish we could customize our bowls; we would get different combinations, but we still feel confident saying this is one of the best quick-service theme park restaurants around. Plus, it has covered seating with ceiling fans and a view of Fyre Drill. There are weirdly no kids’ meals, but we think they would enjoy the mac and cheese cones.

Large Viking-themed sculptures and a dragon head flank a water ride entrance at an amusement park under a clear sky.
