Choice of one ice cream flavor and two toppings

For the ice cream at Frosty Moon, you can choose one of six flavors, accompanied by up to two toppings of your choice. We opted for cheesecake-flavored ice cream, topped with gold star sprinkles and streusel cake pieces. We were hoping for more creative flavor options, so that was a bit disappointing.

We wanted to get the Celestial sprinkles for this, but Frosty Moon was out at the time of our review. The ice cream doesn’t boast a strong cheesecake flavor, but there’s enough there to tell it’s not just plain vanilla. Our best comparison would be eating frozen cheesecake you can get from the grocery store.

You can easily taste the cinnamon in the streusel cake, but we’re not sure we enjoy the combination of cinnamon and cheesecake. That being said, the cake is just fine. It’s not super moist, but not dry either. We do like the added crunch from the sprinkles.

This is just fine. It’s not bad, but not anything we’d rush to get on our next visit to Epic Universe.

Chocolate Chip Cookie (Vegan) – $4.79

Vegan house-baked chocolate chip cookie

A chocolate chip cookie with three oval chocolate pieces, arranged like a face, beside a Star Sui Bao on parchment paper.

We thought the chocolate chip arrangement of this cookie looked like “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, or perhaps craters in a planet.

This is such a gooey and soft cookie, which we prefer. You can taste so much salt, with only a hint of chocolate. To us, it doesn’t taste like how you would expect a cookie to taste, which could be due to it being vegan. It’s very dense, but we don’t care much for it.

If you’re vegan and looking for a sweet treat, you might want to try this, but we would not recommend spending the money on this.

Birthday Cake Cookie – $5.29

Confetti cookie filled with sprinkles and marshmallows, topped with buttercream and marshmallows

A Star Sui Bao cookie with white frosting and colorful marshmallows sits on parchment paper.

This cookie is huge! The inside looks like Funfetti cake mix, and it’s moist and soft. We like this, but definitely need a drink that can cut the richness of the buttercream frosting. The marshmallows taste just like those you’d find in a box of Lucky Charms cereal. We don’t think we could even eat half of this by ourselves, so you’ll definitely want to share it.

Normally, eating any kind of icing or buttercream on Disney treats makes our teeth hurt from the sugar overload, but this time around, we had no problems. Could this be a difference in the standard buttercream recipe? Either way, we’re glad for it.

Overall

Out of all three items, the Birthday Cake Cookie was our favorite (but we wish we had a coffee or espresso drink to go along with it). The ice cream was just fine, but you can get ice cream with toppings from anywhere.

The vegan chocolate chip cookie was not up our alley, but it’s tricky for us to judge if that’s what should be expected with a dairy- and animal-product-free treat. Frosty Moon has very few misses, if you know exactly what you’re looking for.
