Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Receives New 5th Edition HippopotoMai-Tai Tiki Mug

A new edition of the HippopotoMai-Tai tiki mug has just arrived at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Walt Disney World.

5th Edition HippopotoMai-Tai Tiki Mug – $29.50

This latest version of the HippopotoMai-Tai tiki mug is a bright orange color with a yellow ombre effect around the rim. The ombre coloring makes it different from the orange 4th edition that arrived at Disneyland Resort, which never traveled over to Florida.

Like the 4th edition, this tiki mug is made of colored ceramic instead of glass. The details of the face, including the eyes and triangles around the base, are colored black to help them stand out from the bright orange.

Previous versions of this same tiki mug have included the bright blue 4th edition and the teal glass 1st edition that arrived to celebrate the grand opening of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. As with the previous editions, the full Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto wordmark is printed on the back of the head.

The interior of the mug is black. Also like the 4th edition of the HippopotoMai-Tai mug, this does not have the edition number printed on the bottom. Instead, just a plain Disney wordmark is added in the middle of the recessed foot.

When purchasing the mug, guests will be charged $18.50 for the HippopotoMai-Tai drink and an additional $11 for the tiki mug itself, for a total cost of $29.50 prior to tax. If guests are unable to get into Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto for the night, the drink can still be purchased outside at Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. Guests may then bring their receipt inside to the bar to pick up an unused mug in a box.

Just earlier this month, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto also received a new 5th edition Zombie mug in bright green.
