Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort Receive New PhotoPass Magic Shots for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Disney has revealed a list of new PhotoPass Magic Shots available at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

New PhotoPass Magic Shots

The four new Magic Shot opportunities were revealed by Disney on the Disney PhotoPass Instagram account. The Magic Shots are arriving just in time to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The shots include Russell from “Up!,” Baymax & Hiro from “Big Hero 6,” HeiHei with Moana’s oar from “Moana,” and Mei in her panda form from “Turning Red.”

Russel will be available at:

  • The bridge leading from Cinderella Castle into Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park
  • Hollywood Boulevard and Pixar Plaza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • The top of the bridge leading from the entrance of the park into Discovery Island, in Asia next to the Discovery River Lagoon, and across from Feathered Friends in Flight! at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park
  • Adventureland at Disneyland Park, and by the waterfall by Grizzly Peak in Disney California Adventure Park

Meanwhile, Baymax and Hiro can be found at:

  • The Japan pavilion at EPCOT
  • The entrance of the park and by the Hollywood Studios arch at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • The bridge leading from Cinderella Castle into Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park
  • San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure Park

HeiHei and Moana’s oar are only found near Creature Comforts by the “Tree of Life Garden” sign at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Mei, on the other hand, will be available at:

  • The entrance of the park, by the Hollywood Studios arch, and in Pixar Plaza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • The bridge leading into Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park

Disney confirmed the new PhotoPass Magic Shots will be available for the entirety of AAPI Heritage Month, from May 1 to May 31, 2025.

Walt Disney World also rereleased several plant-themed Magic Shots to celebrate the 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which concludes on June 2.
