Vahle wrote in an Instagram post:

It takes great passion and dedication to bring new projects to life. Best of luck to the Universal Orlando team with the opening of Epic Universe! Another big win for tourism in Florida.

Vahle’s post reflects recent comments by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, who is hopeful Epic Universe will drive tourism to Walt Disney World. He said that a guest visiting a new theme park like Epic Universe “is going to have to visit the Magic Kingdom.”

Epic Universe will have its grand opening celebration on Wednesday evening, followed by its official opening to the public on Thursday, May 22. It’s about 15 miles from Magic Kingdom. It includes five “worlds”: Celestial Park, Dark Universe, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

In Super Nintendo World, guests can ride Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Yoshi’s Adventure, and Mine-Cart Madness.

Dark Universe has encounters with Universal Monsters plus the attractions Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Curse of the Werewolf.

In the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter, guests can explore 1920s Wizarding Paris and see the “Fantastic Beasts”-inspired Le Cirque Arcanus show, plus ride Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry set in ’90s London.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk features the roller coaster Hiccup’s Winged Gliders, the Fyre Drill water ride, and “The Untrainable Dragon” stage show. And, of course, a Toothless meet and greet.
