Per Yahoo Entertainment, Universal Pictures has announced that the “Wicked: For Good” trailer “will officially be unveiled on June 4 in North American theaters nationwide.” The trailer will debut in a one-night only return of the first “Wicked” film to theaters in the US and Canada. Check out the announcement made on the Wicked Movie official Instagram by Cynthia Erivo and Arianna Grande:

Guests attending the special screenings will be treated to exclusive “Wicked: For Good” giveaways, including a limited commemorative poster. Following the screenings, the trailer will then be released online for viewing.

The first “Wicked” film, an adaptation of the first act of the Broadway musical, was released last winter. The stage musical debuted in 2003 and is itself based on the 1995 novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire. The novel retells the story of “The Wizard of Oz,” drawing from the original 1900 novel by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film adaptation, which was the first to depict the Wicked Witch of the West as green.

Universal Destinations & Experiences is planning to add “Wicked” to their theme parks as more than just a themed shop. Currently, Universal Studios Japan is offering special “Wicked” experiences from March 7 through December 31 as part of the “Wicked Celebration.” This will coincide with the release of “Wicked: For Good” in November. Guests could also meet the witches of “Wicked” during Universal Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.
