Donald Meet and Greet Temporarily Closed for Mexico Pavilion Concrete Work at EPCOT

The EPCOT Donald Duck meet and greet has temporarily closed and is blocked by construction walls due to concrete work.

Construction walls went up between the Mexico pavilion and Norway pavilion one month ago. At the Norway pavilion, the walls end in the same place next to the Royal Sommerhus, with green scrim cutting through flowerbeds.

The walls have been extended further into the Mexico area. They now block off the space where Donald usually meets guests, and the Donald meet and greet has been removed from My Disney Experience. We don’t expect it to be closed forever, though.

The walls now end with a piece of green scrim right next to the ramp leading into the Mexico pavilion’s pyramid. There’s a wheelchair logo sign on the construction wall next to the ramp to help guests find it.

Before the construction walls were extended, we noticed scoring in the concrete where Donald usually meets guests. Scoring indicates this concrete will be torn up and replaced.

At least for Wednesday, Donald Duck was meeting guests in the Disney100 meet and greet spot, located in the lobby of the Magic Eye Theater at the Imagination! pavilion. This character greeting is not listed on the My Disney Experience app.

Disney began installing themed concrete around the Mexico pavilion in April. More was added outside the pyramid last month.
