Hong Kong Disneyland Resort shared a first look at “Momentous: Party in the Night Sky,” the 20th anniversary version of their nighttime spectacular, debuting later this month.
Momentous: Party in the Night Sky
“Momentous: Party in the Night Sky” is a 20th anniversary update to Hong Kong Disneyland’s standard “Momentous” nighttime spectacular. In an Instagram post, Hong Kong Disneyland managing director Michael E. Moriarty and Creative Director Christie showed off the new show. “Momentous: Party in the Night Sky” will feature eight multi-media effects and a “whole new level of storytelling that will extend from the castle all the way to Main Street, U.S.A.”
This is the first Hong Kong Disneyland nighttime spectacular to include Main Street projections. It also incorporates drones, illuminated water projections, choreographed water fountains, flames, lasers, theatrical lighting, and pyrotechnic effects. The Fairy Godmother will begin the show with a flick of her wand.
The drones will create the faces of Duffy and ‘Olu Mel, and the marigold bridge of “Coco.” Other featured films include “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and “Peter Pan.”
“Momentous: Party in the Night Sky” is a 30-minute show. It will debut on June 28, the day “The Most Magical Party of All” 20th anniversary celebration officially kicks off.
