It was recently announced that Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and surrounding areas would reopen on July 3. However, the Enchanted Tiki Garden pre-show area has now reopened to guests earlier than expected.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Garden Now Open

While the pre-show and show are not running yet, it is now clear that the Tangaroa Tree has been rebuilt, and the “New Life Fall” effect is returning as part of the restoration alongside other updates to the area. The old turnstile has also been removed.

Refurbished signage for the Enchanted Tiki Garden reads, “where fantasy and legend walk in hand with Tiki Talk,” before describing the gods and goddesses who “guard the portals to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.”

The area, which also serves as a seating area for the Tiki Juice Bar, is home to these statues of gods and goddesses, which have also been restored alongside their special effects.

While they are not running at this time, it is clear that work has been done. For example, Heena is dripping water from her head, indicating that her inconsistent rain effect has been fixed.

The Tangaroa Tree has been a part of Disneyland Park since 1963, when the Enchanted Tiki Room first opened. The tree would talk and tell stories to nearby guests before they entered the main queue.

The hanging foliage is part of the “New Life Fall” effect that has been suspended since at least 2020. The effect sees the flowers “bloom” with the foliage appearing from within the central petals and appearing to grow downward.

Tangaroa is known as the “father of all gods & goddesses” and took the form of the tree, and as such, watches over all the others in the Enchanted Tiki Garden.

The refurbished gods and goddesses have been refreshed and sit among new foliage and signs describing their traits.

The Enchanted Tiki Room has been closed for refurbishment since early May and is set to return to normal operation hours on July 3, 2025.
The refurbishment of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is also in time for the park’s 70th anniversary date on July 17. Although the show opened eight years after the park, it’s a classic and beloved attraction synonymous with Disneyland.
Another such attraction is “it’s a small world,” which was also recently closed for a lengthy refurbishment. It reopened with new “Coco” figures. On July 17, it will debut a new verse of the ride’s classic song as a tribute to the late Sherman Brothers.
Also on July 17, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will open in the Main Street Opera House with the first-ever Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic.
