Stormalong Bay reopened at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, but refurbishment work continues around the pool area.
Stormalong Bay

During its six-month closure, the Stormalong Bay pools were resurfaced. The sand-bottomed pool received fresh sand. The decking was also replaced.

The bridges were refurbished in 2022, so they weren’t a focus of this year’s maintenance work.
Shipwreck Pool and Waterslide
Across the walkway, along the lagoon, Shipwreck Pool and the waterslide are still closed. Scaffolding remains up around the ship’s mast, and we saw crew members working on Tuesday.

The crow’s nest at the top of the mast is where guests enter the waterslide, which leads over the walkway into the pool of Stormalong Bay. Shipwreck Pool and the waterslide are expected to reopen soon.

There is also scaffolding around the rockwork at the end of the slide. We’ve previously seen crew members working on these rocks. Construction walls block them from guests.
Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill
Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill reopened with the rest of Stormalong Bay. Like the rest of the pool area, there don’t appear to be any major design changes to the quick-service eatery.
Hurricane Hannah’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Beach Club Refurbishment

The four-month exterior refurbishment of Disney’s Beach Club Resort also began this month. There are construction walls around scaffolding near the back of the resort. Most of the scaffolding that was up during our last visit has been removed, however.
Next to Stormalong Bay, scaffolding covers a wall of the resort. Shingles have been removed from some of the lower rooftops.
Upon close inspection, some of the planks on this wall are clearly darker than others. Crew members are likely repainting them. The shingles will probably be replaced after the paint work is complete.
We also spotted crew members replacing wall paneling in the breezeway. Temporary barriers were set up to direct guests around the workers.
Doors and windows looking out into construction areas are blocked with frosted decals, so light still comes through.

The resort’s front porte cochere is closed for refurbishment work. We didn’t see any active work at the entrance during our Tuesday visit.

We did see orange cones and flags on the roof of the bridge connecting the parking lot and bus stop, indicating there may be construction work on the roof.
