Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has refreshed its menu for the summer season, offering several new entrees and a returning sandwich. We took time out of our Magic Kingdom day to review everything.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, across from Tomorrowland Speedway.
Classic Ranch Salad – $9.99
Mixed Greens with Tomato, Cucumber, Croutons, Shredded Monterey Jack, and House-made Ranch Dressing
This new salad replaces the previous Greek Salad option. You can also get this salad with chicken strips or grilled chicken for an extra cost.
It’s nice that the dressing comes mixed in already. This is a basic salad, not that exciting, but not offensive. The croutons are huge and taste good. Overall, this salad is fine, but it can hit the spot on a hot day if you need a meal.

Truffle-French Onion Burger – $14.99
Angus Beef Patty with Braised Beef-Caramelized Onion Confit, Swiss Cheese, Parmesan, Crispy Onions, and Black Garlic-Truffle Aїoli served with French Fries
This burger replaces the previous Triple-B Burger, and is now the most expensive item on the menu at Cosmic Ray’s.
As far as burgers from Cosmic Ray’s go, this is one of the better ones we’ve had. This burger smells appetizing, and the patty is huge and thick, which makes it feel like a better value for the cost. We love the onion confit and the garlic aioli, and find both ingredients really elevate the burger. Would we order this on a hot day? No way, but it is a nice option to try if you can find a seat inside.

Hand-dipped Fried Chicken Sandwich – $13.19
Chicken Breast with Honey Mustard Sauce and Pickles on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries
This replaces the previous Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich.
The sandwich can be cut very easily, which we appreciated and know isn’t always the case at Cosmic Ray’s. The chicken breast is thick, and overall, the dish reminds us of fried chicken sandwiches you might find at fast food restaurants. The honey mustard sauce is nice and mild, but not too overwhelming. The pickles are nice, big slices, which make them easy to pick off if you don’t like them. We think this will be a win for picky eaters.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich – $13.19
Chicken Breast with Swiss Cheese, Bacon, and Garlic Aїoli on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries
The Grilled Chicken Sandwich has gotten a toppings update, now with Swiss cheese, bacon, and garlic aioli; previously, it included citrus-soy mayonnaise and mango-cucumber slaw.
We were initially a little disappointed with the toppings change for this sandwich, and found the update to be a bit of a downgrade. It’s better than we expected, but it has almost too much sauce. The garlic aioli is very gooey and gets everywhere. The chicken is decently cooked, but we would opt for the fried chicken sandwich option over this.

Patty Melt – $13.49
Impossible Burger topped with Plant-based Cheddar, Grilled Onions, and Asteroid Sauce on Thick-cut Toast served with French Fries

The Patty Melt is back after some time away on the menu. It previously debuted in 2022.

We thought this was a hit for a plant-based dish. If we didn’t know any better, we wouldn’t immediately recognize that this was an Impossible patty. The plant-based cheddar was quite bland with no distinct taste. However, the Texas toast was toasted to perfection and offered a nice crunchy texture to the sandwich.

We also loved the slaw and enjoyed its tangy flavor to offset the savory patty. The Asteroid Sauce is also a hit for us and pairs perfectly with the other ingredients, offering a perfect level of spice.
