From Spaceship Earth ice cubes, to leek-flavored beverages, to crab cakes topped with caviar — we tried every food and beverage option on the menu at GEO-82, the new Spaceship Earth-themed lounge in EPCOT.
Location

GEO-82 is located in the former Siemens corporate lounge area behind Spaceship Earth.
Exterior

Guests enter the golden lit hallway and reach a check-in area on the ground floor. The actual lounge is located on the second floor, so guests either climb the interior staircase or ride in the elevator to reach the seating area.
Interior

GEO-82 has been specifically designed to replicate some of the colors, textures, and scenes from Spaceship Earth. The ground floor check-in area has a black ceiling installation meant to replicate the moment on the ride when the vehicles return backwards.

Once guests arrive on the upper level, there is a small waiting area next to a real wall of Alucobond panels. Guests are allowed to actually touch the material that makes up the exterior of Spaceship Earth.

The main seating area is elegant with metallic tones of gold, silver, and gray highlighted by the large windows.

If you want to see the interior in more detail, check out our full tour of GEO-82.
Menu

Like the rest of the space, the menu is gray with a geometric, Spaceship Earth-style pattern on the front. Take a look at the full menu (with prices) for GEO-82.

Small Bites
Chef’s Selection of Artisanal Cheeses, Cured Meats, and Accompaniments – $29

There is a lot going on in this board. Our waitress specifically mentioned Calabrese salami, Iberico ham, honey, peach chutney, Point Reyes blue cheese, a baguette, cranberry nut bread, and much more that we couldn’t even remember. The quantity of options means this is great for the price point, and the cheese was delicious. It’s hard to rate this individually, but there should be something on here for everyone.

Funghi Flatbread – $15
Roasted Mushrooms, Miso-Mascarpone, Mozzarella, Fontina, Pickled Red Onion, Black Garlic Molasses

The mascarpone cheese is excellent and unique for a flatbread. The garlic molasses lends to a very sticky bite, and we would describe the flavors as a combination of earthiness with sweet. The crust has enough crunch to hold up for a bite while still being being fluffy. While this may not be for everyone, we appreciate that this isn’t a normal flatbread you could get anywhere at Walt Disney World.
Rating out of 7: 5
Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau – $25
Smoked Cheddar, Pickled Mustard Seed-Lemon Vinaigrette, Supreme Caviar

This is obviously expensive for a single crab cake, though a large part of that price is the caviar. The menu description does not mention the crunchy topping, but we appreciated the extra texture. This is very fluffy for a crab cake and not overly fishy, so it would be perfect as a light bite.
Rating out of 7: 5
Cannellini Hummus – $14
Pumpkin Seed Pistou, Radish, Preserved Lemon, Fresno Peppers, Pappadam

The pappadam served with the hummus is very fragile and will break if you try to use it like a traditional dip. Despite that, the hummus itself is creamy and has just enough spice to be tasty without covering all the other flavors. This is a solid option, especially as it is the only vegan food selection on the menu.

Truffled Ahi Tuna – $23
Japanese Whisky Barrel-aged Soy-Truffle Ponzu, Citrus, Scallion, Tobiko, Black Sesame Seeds

We thought the tuna was a little flavorless, so this wasn’t our favorite. It isn’t the fault of the fish itself, which felt very high quality, but it was not cooked very long and tasted mild. The citrus did not add a lot to the dish, nor did the ponzu. We found this especially weird because we rated it much higher during the preview night, so perhaps it was prepared differently?

Zero-Proof Cocktails
A Walk Through the Garden – $17
Seedlip Garden 108 Non-Alcoholic Spirit, Basil, Fennel, Lemon, Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters, The Bitter Truth Celery Bitters, Bubbles

To be honest, we had a bit of fun reading the description of this drink with words like fennel and celery bitters. We then had to apologize to said drink, because this is actually surprisingly good. It tastes like a fizzing lemonade with an added herbal flair. The celery is not noticeable, so don’t let that stop you from ordering it. Our only issue is the price, which is very high for a zero-proof beverage.
Rating out of 7: 6
Manhattan in the Morning – $17
Seedlip Spice 94 Non-Alcoholic Spirit, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, Maple, Verjus Blanc, Tart Cherry, Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters

We again have to point out that this is served in a normal glass for alcoholic beverages and is priced almost as much as an alcoholic beverage. The scent has a strong cherry component, but it does not taste nearly as strong. We think this is supposed to be a type of holiday spiced-style beverage, but we didn’t love the mix of ingredients.

Featured Cocktails
Caramelized Leek Martini – $26
Fords Gin, Dolin Dry Vermouth de Chambéry, Caramelized Leek, Pickled Onion

This is just a weird drink. One reporter’s first reaction was that it “tastes like food” with the caramelized leek reminding us of leek soup in a bad way. We didn’t even go back in for a second sip, because “there is no possible way for this to redeem itself.” We needed another drink to wash this flavor out of our mouths.
Rating out of 7: 1
Brown Butter Old-Fashioned – $28
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon, Brown Butter, Maple, Hella Cocktail Co. Mexican Chocolate Bitters

This comes with one of the specialty GEO-82 ice cubes with Spaceship Earth embossed in the middle. We didn’t get much of the maple flavor until the very end, but the chocolate bitters and brown butter definitely come through. This is a great, high-end old-fashioned.
Rating out of 7: 6
Strawberry and Coconut ‘Right Hand’ – $25
Campari Liqueur, Coconut Cartel Añejo Rum, Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth, Strawberry

This flavor evolves from an initial earthiness to a much sweeter beverage as you sip. It could maybe use a little carbonation or something to lighten up the flavor profile, as it felt heavy and the vermouth unpleasantly overpowering. The overall opinion at our table was that we will not order it again.
Rating out of 7: 2
Clarified New York Sour – $26
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style Bourbon, Lustau Amontillado Sherry, Yuzu, Lemon, Red Wine Float

In the words of our reporters, this is gross. The wine sitting on the top blocks getting a sip of the actual bourbon, and the two do not blend well. We think the layers might be good by themselves, but we wouldn’t want to order it again to find out.
Rating out of 7: 1
High Brow Batanga – $25
Tapatio Reposado Tequila, Ramazzotti Amaro, Kola Nut, Lime Cordial, Salt, Bubbles

This was loosely described as a Mexican-style Coke, though it does not actually contain any of the soft drink. The first sip does taste exactly like Coke, but then you get the aftertaste of a very high-end tequila. We really enjoyed this unique take on a tequila beverage.
Rating out of 7: 6
Strawberry – Black Pepper Sour – $25
Campari Liqueur, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Strawberry, Lemon, Black Pepper

The immediate flavor is smokiness combined with the spice of the black pepper. However, there is a bit too much of the Campari Liqueur compared to the other ingredients. We don’t hate this drink, and it is much sweeter than the Strawberry and Coconut ‘Right Hand.’ We decided to go with a middle rating because it is going to be something everyone will either love or hate.
Rating out of 7: 4
Peach Shrub Whisky Smash – $26
Toki Suntory Whisky, Lustau Amontillado Sherry, Peach and Mint Shrub, Bubbles

This came with peach compote on a small cookie that was not mentioned on the menu. This drink is tart with just a little bit of extra bubble to keep it refreshing. We were totally surprised by how good this drink was, because the menu made it sound off-putting. We didn’t need the cookie with it, but it was good as a palette cleanser.
Rating out of 7: 7
Electron – $23
Siete Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Carrot, Cinnamon, Lime, Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters, Pink Peppercorn

We initially tried this without getting into the pink peppercorn rim. This has a smoky Mezcal flavor, and both of our reporters are not the biggest Mezcal fans. That being said, we actually liked the carrot, and the peppercorn rim helped to cut some of the smoke. We would rate this higher if there weren’t stronger options on the menu.
Rating out of 7: 4
Brûlée Banana Highball – $26
Toki Suntory Whisky, Lustau ‘Don Nuño’ Oloroso Sherry, Banana, Coffee, Cacao, Bubbles

This is carbonated and comes with what is called an ice spear. The ice almost completely fills the glass, and it is garnished with a caramelized banana on top. The carbonation bubbles are not very strong, and we didn’t taste much of the whiskey. The main flavor is definitely coffee, and it doesn’t have as much depth as the other drinks. It is good, but for the price and with better options on the same menu, we can’t recommend this as our favorite.
Rating out of 7: 4
Exclusive Disney Select Bourbon Flight – $49
Uncle Nearest Single Barrel, Woodford Reserve Single Barrel, Blanton’s Gold Single Barrel, Stagg Private Barrel

Our waitress was kind enough to explain that three of these are single barrel, while the final is a private barrel. All four are currently exclusive to GEO-82, and each pour is 3/4 of an oz. This is an excellent flight for anyone who is a connoisseur of bourbon, though the flavors are so good you don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it. The Uncle Nearest has more of an immediate burn, while the Woodford Reserve has more of an almost fruity scent.
If we had to pick a favorite, it would definitely be the Stagg Private Barrel, which was specifically chosen by Disney with the help of a master distiller. The price may seem a bit high for this flight, but the uniqueness and quality of the bourbons actually makes it an excellent value. As one other note, the physical menu has this flight listed as $49, though the website has not yet been updated at the time of writing and still says $45.

Overall
We have to first applaud the menu at GEO-82 for not playing things safe. Several of the drinks and food offerings are very adventurous, combining high-quality ingredients in new ways. This is a bit of a double-edged sword, as a more adventurous menu means some people will love it and some people will hate it. Using the Leek Martini as one example, we heard other people in the lounge saying it was actually pretty good. So if something sounds like it may be more to your taste than it was ours, give it a try! We would definitely recommend making a trip here to experience at least a few of the different options, because there is going to be a beverage for everyone.
GEO-82 is for adult guests only. Visitors must be 21 or older and present valid photo identification for entry.
