In addition to regular day service, GEO-82 at EPCOT also offers a fireworks dessert party with viewing of “Luminous The Symphony of Us.”

Modern Spaceship Earth Lounge with round chairs, large windows, hanging lights, and people enjoying the EPCOT view.

GEO-82 is located where the Siemens corporate lounge used to be on the back of Spaceship Earth, facing World Celebration Gardens. Here’s the description:

Sip, savor and unwind in style at GEO-82, a sophisticated lounge with sweeping views of World Celebration Gardens and World Showcase Lagoon in EPCOT. GEO-82 is nestled within the iconic geodesic sphere that’s home to Spaceship Earth.

Drink Reviews

Canard-Duchêne ‘Léonie’ Cuvée Brut NV

This is the first time that Disney is serving Champagne tableside for a fireworks experience. It’s expensive champagne — $160 per bottle.

A glass of champagne sits on a windowsill at the Fireworks Dessert Party, with a garden and cloudy sky in the background.

The expense makes sense because this is an excellent champagne. Even our reporters who don’t usually like champagne enjoyed this.

Shimmering Margarita

Teremana Tequila Margarita with Silver Dust

The shimmering silver dust is hard to see but it’s visible when you swirl the drink. This is a good cocktail and you’ll like it if you like margaritas. It’s better than La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion. But it’s not better than most of the cocktails on the regular GEO-82 menu.

Golden Old Fashioned

1920 Old Forester 1920 in a Classic Old Fashioned with Gold Dust

This is fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. But the Brown Butter Old-Fashioned on the main menu is far superior.

Food Reviews

Tasting Tower

Pimento Cheese Macarons; Deviled Eggs with Crisp Duck Prosciutto; Chef’s Selection of Artisinal Cheeses, Cured Meats, and Accompaniments

Three-tiered serving tray with assorted appetizers, perfect for your geo-82 fireworks celebration.

This offering is technically a “fireworks experience” and not a “dessert party” because you do get savory options with this tasting tower. It’s kind of like a meal with small bites on top, an appetizer in the middle, and an entree on the bottom.

Two macarons with savory filling on a white plate at the Fireworks Dessert Party, people in the background.

The pimento cheese macarons with micro arugula are fantastic. You get the saltiness from the toppings and the sweetness of the macaron, which is a little chewy and not too dry. This is a unique, interesting item.

Two deviled eggs with orange filling and crispy bacon, served on lettuce—perfect for your next Fireworks Dessert Party.

These are kind of big but it’s best if you eat them in one bite. They’re very good, elevated deviled eggs. In addition to the crisp duck prosciutto, there’s a tangy berry on top which adds a citrus contrast to the richness of the egg. Like the macarons, these are wonderful and unique.

The charcuterie is essentially a mini version of the board on the regular menu. It comes with two meats and two cheeses instead of three of each. Accompaniments include pickles, peach chutney, and seedy bread. It’s hard to rate any of the items individually but, like the standard menu option, this is delicious.

Sweet Bites

Baumkuchen; Bonbons; Chocolate-dipped strawberries

A plate from the Fireworks Dessert Party holds chocolate-covered strawberries, cake slices, and decorated chocolates.

The Baumkuchen has 11 layers for the 11 countries of World Showcase. It’s good but it’s the exact same Baumkuchen from Connections Cafe, so nothing special. The bonbons come from Norman Love Confections. One is a nice bitter dark chocolate, the other is milk chocolate. Both are very creamy.

A dessert plate from the Fireworks Dessert Party featuring chocolate-covered strawberries, layered cake, and chocolates.

The chocolate-dipped strawberries are high quality with a nice chocolate. The gold leaf tastes, for lack of a better word, fancy. It’s an appropriate dessert for this experience.

Fireworks

They dim the interior lights about five minutes before the fireworks begin and play the music in the lounge.

Fireworks and glowing lights reflect in restaurant windows above a bar during the Fireworks Dessert Party at night.

Unfortunately, both nights we attended the fireworks experience, the lights came back on at 9:10 — about halfway through the show. This completely ruins the view. Hopefully it’s an error and will be fixed.

Fireworks light up the night sky above GEO-82 park as crowds enjoy the Fireworks Dessert Party and illuminated pillars.

Lights aside, this is a surprisingly great view of the fireworks. Disney removed some large trees from behind Dreamers Point to provide a better view of both the show and the gardens in general. We do recommend letting your shorter friends sit closer to the window and taller friends sit at the outside of the table.

Stay tuned for our video of “Luminous” from GEO-82. Watch our video of the nighttime spectacular’s debut performance below.

Overall

A glass of champagne beside a brown menu at the GEO-82 Fireworks Dessert Party, with trees visible outside.

This is not cheap. You do get an expensive champagne and access to two other drinks, which they will continue to refill. We assume there’s a limit to how many drinks they will give you, but we didn’t hit it. You could make this experience worth the money if you drink a lot of champagne.

However, the margarita and old fashioned are not as good as most drinks on the regular menu. And while the macarons and deviled eggs are nice and unique, the charcuterie is just a version of the regular menu’s dish.

We would instead recommend getting a standard 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. reservation for GEO-82 and staying for the fireworks. You are allowed to do that. It may not be the best view in the house, but you can still see the fireworks.

Which makes the fireworks experience not that exclusive. It only takes up nine tables — six along the window and three set back from the window, for a total of about 25 guests. The rest of the lounge is taken up by non-dessert party guests.

With a standard reservation you could get four drinks, the charcuterie board, and some other small plates for less money. Sure, you wouldn’t have champagne, but the cocktails would be good.

The fireworks experience could be good for special occasions and celebrations like an engagement or anniversary. It is an elevated, quiet, and more intimate experience than, for example, the Magic Kingdom dessert party. Plus, it has air conditioning.
