In our latest update on the progress of the new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there is some more torn-up concrete and a truck parked near what appears to be a new pump.
Tropical Americas Construction Update

Construction continues in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the former home of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama is demolished to become a new Tropical Americas land. The new area, which is set to include the first major Disney attraction themed to “Encanto” as well as an original carousel, is currently expected to open in 2027. The areas of DinoLand that are still open, such as DINOSAUR, are expected to all close together in early 2026.
In the meantime, this side of DinoLand U.S.A. is still wrapped in green construction walls.

The roof of Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures is still visible above the walls. Unlike most of the structures in the rest of the land, this building is expected to stay in the same spot and simply be re-themed for the new Tropical Americas style.

A little more of the construction is visible from the upper level of The Boneyard. Peering over the green walls, a white truck has been parked to the left of the building since our last construction update. The truck is stationed next to what appears to be a new pump system, with some orange caution barriers visible on the right.
Zooming a little closer, this appears to be the same Vac-Con truck we previously spotted in an update early last month. This vehicle is used to prepare the ground for the construction of a new structure by breaking up the existing materials with water and using vacuum suction to remove the debris.

The other main change is the removal of some concrete around the back corner of the construction zone. This area used to be a guest walkway with a standard concrete path, but it appears to now have been broken apart and removed.

We expect the rest of the remaining concrete closer to the construction walls will be removed in a similar fashion soon.
