Construction Walls Around Blues Brothers Stage, Arcade Closed, and More Work in Universal Studios Florida

The Palace Theater Arcade is closed and construction walls are up around the Blues Brothers stage in Universal Studios Florida.

Palace Theater Arcade

People walk past the Palace Arcade entrance on a lively city street with a theater-style marquee.

The arcade is attached to Sahara Traders, the exit gift shop for Revenge of the Mummy. There are no changes to the facade, which still advertises “Games of Skill.”

People stand outside a theater entrance with three double doors and two box office signs, next to an ATM machine.

However, the doors of the arcade are all locked. Inside, blue tarps block their windows.

A child walks past a closed metal door, Egyptian decor, and shelves with blue "Legend" shirts in a gift shop.

In Sahara Traders, crews have pulled a rolling door down, blocking access to the arcade.

It’s not clear if the arcade’s closure is temporary for a refurbishment or permanent.

The Blues Brothers Show Stage

Nearby, in the streets of New York, there are construction walls around The Blues Brothers Show stage. The Blues Brothers Show still has showtimes listed in the Universal Orlando Resort app, indicating they may be performing on the street while the stage is refurbished.

Sign on blue wall reads: "Universal Studios Florida. Please pardon our dust. Set enhancements in progress.

Gramercy Park

Construction is also underway in Gramercy Park, across from Revenge of the Mummy. The park is surrounded by construction walls. Only the food kiosks at the corners of the park are open.

Universal has not made any announcements about construction at Gramercy Park. It’s possible this work — and even the Blues Brothers and Palace Arcade construction — could be related to Halloween Horror Nights 34. Preparations for the annual event are already underway throughout Universal Studios Florida.

There is more construction in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida as crews prepare to demolish Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
