A recent construction permit filed by Disney includes the address of Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Construction Permit for Expedition Everest

The new construction permit was filed with Orange County on the morning of July 25, 2025. The permit lists the address for the property as 734 Werikhe Way, which is the street address of Expedition Everest used for permit purposes.

The permit specifically states the description of improvement is “mechanical work” but provides no other details. The contracted company is Lo Temp Engineering. Before anyone gets too excited that Disney is finally going to fix the Yeti, it is worth noting this company specializes in “commercial and Industrial Air Conditioning as well as refrigeration including coolers, freezers, ice machines and bins” as per their website.
There is currently no refurbishment closure listed on the current Walt Disney World calendar for Expedition Everest, so the work is likely more internal and may not have a drastic effect visible to guests.

However, this is far from the only permit filed for areas around Disney’s Animal Kingdom lately. Much of the construction taking place in the park has been related to the upcoming Tropical Americas land, which has caused the closure of DinoLand U.S.A. to begin in phases. One wave of construction permits included addresses in the area formerly known as Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, though the latest set included permits for Trilo-Bites, The Boneyard, and more. One other new permit was filed over in Magic Kingdom for the demolition of Aunt Polly’s at Tom Sawyer Island.
