EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion Tower Refurbishment Now Complete

The over five-month refurbishment of the Italy pavilion’s tower at EPCOT is now complete, and all signs of construction are gone.

The refurbishment project began in February with work walls, scaffolding, and scrim erected around the tower. “Camouflage” scrim was installed in March. All the walls, scaffolding, and scrim are now gone.

When we checked on the tower earlier this month, there were still some walls and scrim around the base of the tower. But the refurbishment seemed mostly complete. It looks like the project involved basic maintenance like repainting.

The interior of the tower is not accessible to guests.

The structure is based on St. Mark’s Campanile, the bell tower of St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, Italy. While the real tower is about 323 feet tall, the replica in EPCOT is only 83 feet tall.
