First Monsters, Inc. Disney’s Hollywood Studios T-Shirt Released During Land’s Construction

This new Halloween t-shirt may feature some Disney fans’ worst nightmare: Monsters, Inc. replacing MuppetVision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Monsters, Inc. Disney’s Hollywood Studios T-Shirt – $29.99

The tee is black with an image of Sulley from “Monsters, Inc.” roaring above “We scare because we care” in orange. Flying doors are in the sky like bats around a yellow full moon. The Disney’s Hollywood Studios wordmark is in orange at the top.

The inclusion of “Disney’s Hollywood Studios” is notable because generic Walt Disney World Resort t-shirts would usually feature the resort name, not a specific park. A Monstropolis land is under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with no opening timeframe announced. This is the first Disney’s Hollywood Studios-branded “Monsters, Inc.” merchandise released, seemingly alluding to the land.

A concept art poster for Monsters, Inc. Land is displayed on a red construction wall at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Muppets Courtyard in Grand Avenue closed last month to become Monstropolis. Trees and the Miss Piggy fountain were removed from in front of the MuppetVision 3D theater. Disney filed a permit this week for construction at the theater, which will become The Glob, according to Monstropolis concept art. Part of the nearby Cast Member parking lot is blocked off for construction of the land’s signature door roller-coaster, which will be Disney’s first vertical lift coaster and first suspended coaster.

The “Monsters, Inc.” land won’t be open for Halloween 2025 but the t-shirt may mean more “Monsters, Inc.” merch will be released at the park while the land is under construction.
