Crews have installed lights, screens, and more for Halloween Horror Nights 34 at Universal Studios Florida.
Halloween Horror Nights Construction
The first scaffolding towers were installed throughout the park in mid-June. They now line the street of the park’s Hollywood section, usually home to a large scare zone. Last year, it was the Demon Queens scare zone.

The towers closest to the park’s entrance are relatively short, while towers further down the street are almost as tall as the facades. These towers are used to support lighting, speakers, and set pieces.
Another short tower sits outside Mel’s Drive-In. The tower on the corner of the street already has lights on it.
Another tower next to Transformers: The Ride 3-D is also topped with lights. This tower is taller than the nearby trees, although not as tall as the Transformers building.
At Battery Park, this scrim-covered archway has been in place for a while. It has two stage lights hanging from its corners.
Past the archway are three scaffolding towers. The one right behind the shade structure is mounted with lights. The other two sit next to the railing overlooking the lagoon.

These two are accompanied by large TV screens. Last year, Battery Park was home to The HHN Bar, with various characters from the event appearing. The TV screens displayed HHN videos and graphics.
There are five tall scaffolding towers in the courtyard of Cafe La Bamba. The restaurant’s bar window usually becomes a themed eatery during HHN.
In front of the Animal Actors On Location! theater is a platform with trusses above it. For now, there is no theming on the platform and trusses, although there are “Do Not Climb” signs. Scareactors may appear on the platform during HHN for short performances.

There is a lot more rigging on the ceiling of the Fear Factor stage, where the annual HHN stage show is held. When we last checked, there were only a handful of lights, black curtains, and a barn-like set piece. Now, dozens of lights, ropes, speakers, and chains hang among catwalks.
Universal has not announced this year’s stage show, but it’s expected to be another version of “Nightmare Fuel.” Last year’s show was “Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus.”
Crews have also installed a Death Eaters stage for HHN in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Tickets are on sale for HHN 34, which is on select nights from August 29 through November 2. The event-wide theme is The Conservatory. Houses will include Gálkn: Monsters of the North, Grave of the Flesh, Dolls: Let’s Play Dead, Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters, El Artista: A Spanish Haunting, Fallout, JASON UN1V3RSE, and Terrifier. There will be a Five Nights at Freddy’s experience. The first scare zone has also been announced.
