Monsters, Inc. Ear Headband Released at Disney's Hollywood Studios

A new Monsters, Inc. Ear Headband was recently released at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in limited quantities.

When we purchased the ears at Once Upon a Time, they were one of the last pairs available in the park. According to Cast Members, very few pairs were available at the time of release. We do not know if the ear headband was out early by accident or if there are currently very limited quantities. Either way, keep your eyes open while at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You never know when you might find this new monstrous headband.

The headband has a lavender terry cloth-like bow with two eyes and twine hair. This is a nod to the costume worn by Boo as Sulley tries to hide her from the other monsters in the “Monsters, Inc.” film.

One of the “ears” is a green fuzzy ball with horns, representing Mike Wazowski. The other is blue with purple dots and horns, representing Sulley.

The actual headband is blue on the exterior and green on the interior, matching each Monster “ear.”

This is just one of the new items available at Hollywood Studios with a nod to the new “Monsters, Inc.” land replacing Muppets Courtyard in Grand Avenue. A “We scare because we care” Halloween t-shirt was also recently released.

A concept art poster for Monsters, Inc. Land is displayed on a red construction wall at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Muppets Courtyard in Grand Avenue closed last month to become Monstropolis. Trees and the Miss Piggy fountain were removed from in front of the MuppetVision 3D theater. Disney filed a permit this week for construction at the theater, which will become The Glob, according to Monstropolis concept art. Part of the nearby Cast Member parking lot is blocked off for the construction of the land’s signature door roller-coaster, which will be Disney’s first vertical lift coaster and first suspended coaster.
