New Liberty Square Pressed Penny Machine Replaces Riverboat with Jiminy Cricket

A new Liberty Square pressed penny machine has arrived at Magic Kingdom without the Liberty Square Riverboat.

The new machine is in the same location as the old one, at the exit of the Hall of Presidents (which reopened last month). It’s clearly brand new, with cleaner light brown wood and metal trim. Like other Walt Disney World pressed penny machines, it is $1 for 1 coin. Cash can be used for one coin but credit card can only be used to purchase all three designs for $3.

Three Disney souvenir coins featuring Mickey Mouse, the Hall of Presidents, and the Haunted Mansion designs.

The machine has the same Hall of Presidents and Hatbox Ghost designs as previously. The Hatbox Ghost design was introduced in 2024 after the character joined the Magic Kingdom version of The Haunted Mansion. Following the closure of Liberty Square Riverboat this month, its pressed penny design has been replaced by a generic Disney-branded design featuring Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio.

Take a last look at the Liberty Square Riverboat and Rivers of America. The attraction and area closed permanently, along with Tom Sawyer Island, to make way for a Cars expansion to Frontierland.
