PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 7/9/2025 (T-Shirt Design Postcards, Sam Eagle Magnet, and a Pretzel Update from Disney’s Old Key West)

Howdy! Today was a nice day in Magic Kingdom. I found new postcards featuring some of the trendy T-shirt designs from a few months ago, the newest Muppets Anniversary magnet, and an all-important pretzel update from Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

Good Magical Morning

I started my Magic Kingdom morning with a walk through Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. I was excited to see that slow progress keeps chugging along with the Polynesian roof repair from last year’s hurricane season.

The Grand Floridian lobby refurbishment is still in progress, as well as some of the grounds around the resort. The convention center is even fenced off from guests currently. I noticed that there was a bit of a meeting of the minds where there was a pipe burst situation almost two years ago.

Most magic of this morning, though, was seeing the happy Disney couple getting married and taking pictures in the iconic resort. It will never get old. My inner child lights up seeing weddings here.

Magic Kingdom Backstage Clearing Update

Left: Red and white monorail at a station. Right: Canal by cleared land near Disney's Old Key West under a blue sky.

I opted to take the quickest way into Magic Kingdom from the Grand Floridian. The resort monorail. On the way to the Magic Kingdom, I had a clear view of the construction, or land clearing, backstage. I feel like every time I see it, it expands.

Where did all the trees go? I am curious to see what happens with the future of the Magic Kingdom. I know this is just permitted to be a laydown yard, and not where the expansions are going, but it is still such a drastic change.

Good Morning from the Magic Kingdom and the Dapper Dans

What better way to be greeted into the Magic Kingdom than by the Dapper Dans pulled by their trusty steed, Titon. There is nothing quite like the Dapper Dans to set the tone for your day. Please enjoy this short clip.

T-Shirt Designs Now on Postcards – $3.99 each

Six postcards featuring Magic Kingdom themes—castles, characters, and park maps—held in someone’s hand.

In the Emporium, I found multiple new postcards featuring a lot of the trendy T-shirt designs. But don’t worry, they still sell the classic picture of the characters in front of Cinderella Castle.

Maybe I am drawing the line in a strange place, but spending $3.99 on one postcard feels a bit expensive to me. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Princess Jewelry in Crystal Arts Displayed Proudly

Display cases with gemstone necklaces, earrings, an ornate blue ring, and Magic Kingdom T-Shirt Design Postcards.

These three blue Moana jewelry pieces are available in Crystal Arts for $39.00 each. The new display next to the cash register now features a wide selection of princess-inspired jewelry.

Let me know what princess jewelry you would be most likely to purchase in the comments below. I am always drawn to Ariel, personally.

Shady Days Ahead for Photopass Cast Members

Visitors relax near Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, enjoying the garden area on a sunny day—perfect for a T-shirt design.

I am very happy to see that Photopass Cast Members are getting some much-needed and deserved shade. More and more, you’ll spot these white umbrellas throughout the park protecting the Photopass Cast Member from the unrelenting sunshine.

I love love love this! Maybe they will let Cast Members wear neck fans next. Universal allows their Team Members to wear them. AND Disney Look is much more relaxed than it ever has been, so maybe there is hope.

Sonny Eclipse Moment

As always, I stopped into the Starlight Cafe to check on one of my favorite extraterrestrial lounge singers. Sonny was performing for a couple of families when I stopped by this morning. I have heard the same songs and jokes my entire life, and I’m still entertained.

Launch Bay Finds

Collage: Tron action figure, Avengers backpack, and a Sam Eagle sticker—perfect for a Magic Kingdom T-shirt design.

In Launch Depot, I found a new Avenger backpack available for $34.99. I also finally got to see which Muppet Magnet released last Friday for the Muppet 70th Anniversary. I missed the debut for the Fourth of July, but funny enough, it was Sam Eagle that was released on America’s birthday.

The sale continues for the Tron Identity Program figurines. The sale is so good that even the figures are falling over.

Peoplemover Moment and Space Mountain Delay

When I rode the Peoplemover this morning, there was a slight delay in Space Mountain. If you listen closely, you can hear the automated announcement in the attraction as we glided through the takeoff area.

Do you have a fun downtime story? Let me know in the comments below. I have never been part of a dramatic evacuation before.

King Triton Statue Update

Wooden statue of a bearded king with a trident, perfect for a T-Shirt Design inspired by the Magic Kingdom.

King Triton is back to his damaged antics. The finger is the worst part. I am starting to wonder why people are picking on this finger in particular. I want to set up a time-lapse camera just to see what is happening, but I also can’t think of a more boring time-lapse to watch.

I’m sure our trusty repair Cast Member will be out in the next few weeks to make the necessary spot treatment.

Be Our Guest Menu Update

A wooden menu display case stands by a stone archway near Disney's Old Key West with a castle in the background.

I was excited to see that the missing medallions on the Be Our Guest menu have gotten some attention. The area where the medallions are supposed to be has been cleaned up and maybe even repainted. It certainly looks prepped for replacement medallions soon.

Rapunzel and Flynn Moment

I always love seeing the characters out and about like they do so freely in Disneyland. Here at Disney World, it is a bit of a nightmare, but the characters still try from time to time.

This morning, near her tower, I spotted Rapunzel and Flynn. They have been out more often lately for Cool Kid Summer.

Fresh Finds – New Frontierland Sign and New Nightmare Pins

Left: People walk by a rustic trading post. Right: Magic Kingdom's "Nightmare Before Christmas" pins are held up.

When I was leaving Magic Kingdom, I noticed that the Frontierland sign had finally come back to the DVC kiosk outside the new lounge. It is a small detail, but one I have been waiting on for literal months.

I stopped by the Cinema on Main Street just to find two new open edition pins featuring Jack and Zero from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Parkwide Pretzel Selections in Old Key West

A snack stand in Magic Kingdom with a menu, counter, and display case holding large soft pretzels on metal rods.

I decided to end my day at Old Key West Resort. I found out that Good’s Food to Go now offers literally all the pretzels found in the parks in this one location. It really is quite the miracle, and the pretzels are great. For more details, you can read our full story on our website.

New Swag in Conch Shop

Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and T-shirts with Disney's Old Key West designs displayed on racks in a store.

Before catching a bus out for the day, I found new apparel featuring the classic Disney Vacation Club Resort. I particularly liked the joggers, but I don’t wear a lot of resort-specific apparel. Do you? Let me know in the comments below.

I hope you enjoyed our day around the Magic Kingdom and the Disney resorts. I most enjoyed seeing Rapunzel and Flynn interacting with a few young fans. I love it when the characters get into the story with little ones.
