REVIEW: Sea Turtle Cookie Returns to Gideon’s Bakehouse for Second Half of July 2025

The Sea Turtle Cookie is back at Gideon’s Bakehouse for the second half of July 2025, following the limited-time release of the “new and improved” Rocky Road Cookie.

Gideon’s Bakehouse can be found in The Landing section of Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort.

This month’s menu card features Eloise, sister of Enoch, who was featured on the previous menu card for July. Her short story is written at the top of the menu and reads:

Not all families look alike while enjoying a summer day at the beach. Meet Eloise. When not helping her brother, Enoch, identify bones by the seaside, Eloise enjoys reading the darkest gothic comics, eating saltwater taffy, and practicing the growing science of anesthesiology.

As we suspected, the two menus for July form a postcard-like illustration featuring the siblings when placed side-by-side.

According to an Instagram post from Gideon’s, there was a misprint with the new menu, meaning that the borders don’t perfectly align. They will be reprinted, and a corrected version is expected to be available this weekend.

Premium chocolate, homemade caramel, whole candied pecans, and sea salt

A large cookie from Gideon's Bakehouse, adorned with various chunks of chocolate and other ingredients, rests on a patterned paper wrapper, set on an outdoor surface.

As for this cookie, which is back from its last return in 2024, it’s still just as delicious as the first time we tried it in 2023. We were blown away with just one bite.

This cookie is rich and chocolatey, just like you’d want, with the perfect amount of caramel to complement its overall flavor. The candied pecans offer a nice crunch to the cookie’s texture, and the sprinkling of sea salt on top offsets the sweetness well.

Our cookie came out of the case fresh, soft, and tasty. We could immediately note the chocolate and caramel flavors in our first bite, and we’re once again asking to make this a permanent offering on the Gideon’s menu.

Rating out of 7: 7

The Sea Turtle Cookie will only be available through the end of July, with a purchase limit of two per person, while supplies last each day. A portion of sales from this flavor will go to support Florida’s Sea Turtle Conservancy, the world’s oldest sea turtle research and conservation group.

Gideon’s Bakehouse will be releasing new turtle-themed charity merchandise soon. In addition, new merchandise featuring Eloise is also available in stores and online.
