After testing Sony cameras a few weeks ago, Walt Disney World is officially introducing the replacement to PhotoPass photographers across the resort.
Disney PhotoPass Sony Cameras
Disney had a partnership with Nikon from 2013 to 2021, so PhotoPass photographers have mostly used Nikon equipment. This month, some PhotoPass photographers began using Sony cameras and equipment. Following a successful test, the new equipment is rolling out to photographers at all four theme parks.
The upgraded set-up includes Sony’s A7IV camera, 24-105 f4 G-series lens, and flash attachment.

According to PhotoPass photographers, the cameras were officially introduced at EPCOT last week. They will be with all the photographers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom by the end of this month. They will be introduced to Magic Kingdom this week, just in time for the debut of “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.”

Great addition! Those big clunky Nikons were heavy and half the time glitches out. I am sure the photographers will be happy with the change and the guests will love their new pics! Great move Mickey😃
Wondering what they’ll do with all the old camera equipment, maybe Cast Connection?
