The National Weather Service has issued a new heat advisory today for Central Florida, which includes Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort.
Central Florida Heat Advisory

A new advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for all of Central Florida on July 20, warning of some extreme heat that is expected to last through the rest of today. The advisory mentions that the heat index value, a.k.a. the feels-like temperature, is expected to reach up to 110°F, which is even higher than when the first advisory was issued earlier this week. The hot temperatures will effect guests at both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.
The heat advisory was first issued at 10:07 a.m. EDT and is expected to last through 8 p.m. EDT. In addition to Central Florida, the advisory covers the upper half of Florida as well.

Additional alerts sent out by the NWS warn that hot temperatures and high humidity “May cause heat illnesses.” Guests are encouraged to drink plenty of water and take extra precautions when going outside, such as wearing loose clothing, limiting activities to the morning or evening, and staying out of direct sunlight when possible.
The actual temperature, according to The Weather Channel, is expected to reach a high of 93°F in Orlando. However, the UV Index for July 20 is listed at a 7 of 11, and the humidity will peak at 75%, making the feels-like temperature higher than the literal number. A UV Index of 7 is considered high, and increases the risk of getting sunburnt.
Major events taking place at Walt Disney World today include the official debut of the Disney Starlight parade in Magic Kingdom and the soft opening of Test Track in EPCOT.
