New construction walls have appeared in the walkway near the entrance to Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Savi’s Workshop

Savi’s Workshop is a location in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where guests can build a custom lightsaber as part of an overall experience. Advance reservations for the Disney’s Hollywood Studios location are highly recommended. Guests are able to choose one of four themes when making a lightsaber: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, or Protection and Defense.
You can read our review and watch a complete video of the lightsaber building experience on our website.

As seen in the photo above (which, as a note, was taken when the experience was modified in 2020), the exterior of Savi’s Workshop usually has a courtyard-style area with a guest walkway and some planters lining the nearby walls. Apart from being a general walkway, this area is where guests wait to check in for their experience.
Savi’s Workshop Construction Walls

However, in a recent change to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, new construction walls have appeared and block most of this area. They includes both traditional wooden walls and some tightly-pulled tarps in the area to the right of the stairs.

The walls and tarps are all a light tan color. The interior is not visible from the walkway, so the type of work taking place in the area is currently unknown.

The walls extend down the side of the slope and across a section of the walkway near the entrance. There is still an area to the left side where guests can enter Savi’s Workshop as normal, but the overall amount of space has been greatly reduced. All of the umbrellas usually sitting in the area within the walls have been shifted or removed.

There has been no formal notice of construction going on near Savi’s Workshop, and the location has not announced any hours changes or closures.
Additional construction walls were added near the side of Galaxy’s Edge that connects with Toy Story Land earlier this summer. Likewise, a tree in the Star Wars land remains wrapped in protective netting after several guests began carving their names into the bark.
