Disney World Using Virtual Queue for Pin Tuesday Release

Walt Disney World is utilizing a virtual queue for the August 19 Artist Collection pin release.

Pin Tuesday Virtual Queue

Tuesday Pin releases, a.k.a. Pin Tuesdays, have become more and more popular, with guests lining up during early park entry to buy the newest limited edition pins. There have been increasing reports of line cutting and resellers.

To curb these issues, Disney introduced a virtual queue on Tuesday, August 19, only for the EPCOT release of the new Disney Artist Collection by Alex Maher. Artist Collection pins have been released every few months this year, with the artist appearing at EPCOT to sign the pin cards.

Guests can sign up for the virtual queue and then will receive a text message when they should return to Port of Entry to purchase their pins and get them signed.

Other new pins were still available via a regular standby line at Disney Traders, pictured above. It’s possible future releases will use a virtual queue, however, depending on how today’s release goes.
