A recent update to the Walt Disney World website has confirmed that the Palm Golf Course is now closed for aerification.
Disney’s Palm Golf Course Closed
A new notice has been added to the top of the page for Disney’s Palm Golf Course on the Golf WDW website. As per the notice, the course is now closed for aerification and will remain closed for nearly two weeks.
Aerification is a grass maintenance practice that involves creating holes in the turf, specifically in flatter areas like putting greens, to improve water and air infiltration. Aerification helps to improve the overall health and longevity of the turf.
The closure began on Monday, August 4, and is currently scheduled to last through Thursday, August 14. The Palm Golf Course is scheduled to reopen for play starting on Friday, August 15. The full website notice reads:
PLEASE NOTE!… Beginning on Monday August 4, 2025, Disney’s Palm Golf Course will be closed for aerification. It will re-open for play on Friday August 15. We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Magnolia or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Palm Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this course, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our golf courses again in the near future.
Disney’s Palm Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course featuring “shimmering lakes, tropical sands, palm trees and sloping greens.” It includes nine holes with water hazards and a total of 59 bunkers.
As mentioned in the notice, the other Walt Disney World golf courses, including Disney’s Magnolia and Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Courses, will be open as usual while the Palm Golf Course is closed.
Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course was recently refurbished in March of this year. When it reopened, several of the holes were redesigned and named “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.” Each hole of the course was also given a new Disney movie-inspired name with a related quote.
