Driver’s Seat Finally Returns to Race Against the Sun Exhibit at EPCOT

EPCOT guests can once again pretend to drive a car with the return of the driver’s seat to the Morocco Pavilion’s Race Against the Sun exhibit.

Race Against the Sun: Ancient Technique to Modern Competition explores the history of the Berber tribes in the Sahara and two modern racing events, Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles). Part of the exhibit is a replica car dashboard with a wheel and pedals. The corresponding seat had been missing since at least early June.

Now the seat is back so guests can once again take a fun photo. Though the set-up may look like an interactive arcade game, it’s not. The wheel moves but that’s about it. In front of the window is a looping video of a race across the dessert.

Race Against the Sun opened in 2019 and can be found near the front of the Morocco Pavilion. Watch our video tour of the gallery below.
