Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas is officially open to the public, and WDWNT had the opportunity to experience each of the four haunted houses.

While the house themes are returning from previous Halloween Horror Nights events, they are updated experiences. In this house, guests can experience the terrifying worlds of Universal Monsters, following in the footsteps of famed monster-hunter Van Helsing into the realm of the most iconic monsters in Universal’s storied cinema history.

Guests enter Van Helsing’s crumbling crypt through stanchions set up around a Universal Monsters floor projection. A Team Member scans guest tickets in front of a gated tomb before entering a more themed queue line.

Walking further into the themed queue, busts of classic Universal Monsters are placed in alcoves. Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon are among the representations.

A stained glass window with “Van Helsing” and “Believe in things you cannot see” is placed along the pathway further into the crypt.

The house begins through a tomb entrance marked “Talbot,” and was guarded by two scare actors. A grave attendant told us to “get out,” but we continued on.

Moving through, monsters were hiding around every corner behind overgrown weeds and curtains. Past the first dark room, we emerged into another full of candles, ropes, and forgotten monsters that had clawed their way back to life. We then entered a lagoon-themed area and were met by the Creature from the Black Lagoon. A voice-over narrated this section of the house.

Dracula was waiting around the next corner along with other vampire scare actors.

A room inspired by The Mummy was next. A mummy scare actor jumped through windows covered with ripped fabrics. Scurrying scarabs are projected onto a wall covered in hieroglyphics.

The Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Frankenstein were next in two separate areas. Frankenstein stops to discuss the creation of his monster prior to using his iconic “It’s alive! It’s alive!” quote as the monster comes to life.

White text "UNIVERSAL MONSTERS" on a textured blue background evokes classic Universal Horror style and a rectangular border.

Some of the Universal Monsters jump out once more as guests exit the house.
