This year at Halloween Horror Nights, you can attend your own funeral and journey into the afterlife in Grave of Flesh.
Grave of Flesh
Backstory

Welcome to your funeral, where things are about to go from bad to worse. You’ll enter your grave and then the underworld, where flesh-eaters who feed on the dead will hunt you for all eternity.
We mean it when we say the story of this house is your own journey into the afterlife. Guests arrive at a cemetery and literally enter their own grave.
With this house, Universal answers the age-old question: What happens when we die? According to Halloween Horror Nights, you are tormented for eternity by flesh-eating monsters. The creatures were inspired by real-life star-nosed moles.
Review

Visually, this is an interesting house, but it’s one note. There are lighting effects that are used well in the dark spaces to facilitate scares, but that’s it. The space is just underground.
At one point there are some visually interesting MC Escher-inspired stairs, but they didn’t use them for any real purpose.

We won’t deny that there were a few times in this house that we felt genuinely scared. In addition to star-nosed moles, the monsters down here are like the Knucklegrunts, which unfortunately give us the creeps.
We did appreciate that there were a variety of creatures down here, not just the ones advertised on the poster. Still, we have very few strong feelings about this house, which isn’t exactly what we want from Halloween Horror Nights.
Rating
Overall, this is a meh house, and it would be toward the bottom of our list of houses to immediately try again.
