Jaws summer is officially over and Universal Studios Florida is starting to take down their Little Amity overlay.
Little Amity Removed
“Little Amity” was a temporary Jaws land in the park’s San Francisco area, taking over San Francisco Candy Company and the surrounding pier. The overlay celebrated 50 years of the classic Universal film with props, photo ops, food booths, and roaming Jaws Ride skippers.
The food booths closed and were removed a few weeks ago. Now the red truck and other exterior props are gone from the area. The two posts that held up a July 4th banner are still outside San Francisco Candy Company, with some planters around them.

There is also still patriotic bunting on San Francisco Candy Company. The decorations coincided with both the film’s anniversary and the Fourth of July, a major date in Jaws.

Down the pier, a pile of props and the Jaws Ride photo op remain in place for now. These will likely come down within the next few days. Universal is gearing up for Halloween Horror Nights 34, which begins on August 29. The San Francisco area will be home to the new Club Horror “street experience.”

Inside San Francisco Candy Company, the entry display with a small version of the Orca and some yellow barrels still shows off Jaws 50th anniversary merchandise. Nearby is a display case of Jaws props.

Other props have been removed from atop merchandise displays, leaving empty cubbies. There are still a few Jaws signs and decals on the walls.
Amity Island History
Universal Studios Florida used to be home to a full Amity Island area next to the San Francisco area. The land included the Jaws Ride, which had operated since the park’s opening (albeit with infamous technical issues). Amity Island and the Jaws Ride closed in 2012. They were replaced by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Remnants of the original Amity Island include the hanging Bruce the Shark photo op, the bathroom building, the Man at the Wheel statue, and various props and Easter eggs throughout Diagon Alley.
