After crossing the billion-dollar mark at the box office this summer, the live-action Lilo & Stitch will soon make its streaming debut on Disney+.
Live-Action Lilo & Stitch Coming to Disney+
According to Deadline, the film will premiere on the streaming service on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The streaming date marks its “massive” 124-day theatrical window from when the film opened in theaters on May 23.
The film is the highest-grossing MPA (Motion Pictures Association) title of 2025 so far with $1.025 billion, and is the second-highest-grossing movie in the U.S. with $421.2 million. Other recent billion-dollar successes from Disney include Moana 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Inside Out 2.
The live-action film is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On), with a screenplay written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes. A sequel is already in development.
