Pirates of the Caribbean ride, gift shop, and tavern Cast Members at Magic Kingdom will don new costumes soon.
New Pirates of the Caribbean Cast Member Costumes
The Walt Disney World Ambassadors Instagram page revealed the new costumes in a video. They appear to be mix-and-matchable, like the costumes of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, with different accessories and reversible items.
Cast Members may be able to customize their looks or might wear set combinations based on their work area (ride, shop, or tavern).
The items shown off by the Cast Members in the video include a solid red shirt, a red striped shirt (both shirts have straps to keep the sleeves rolled up), black striped pants, long brown shorts, a wide-brimmed hat, a tricorn hat, a teal green sash, an orange sash, a brown belt with an attached pouch, and a reversible vest that is black on one side and red on the other, and can be worn in different ways.
As seen in the above image, taken when the attraction was temporarily closed, the previous Cast Member costumes had a more colorful style. The old costumes included a maroon or bright purple shirt, a matching maroon vest, and orange pants. The old costumes were also featured in a video posted by Walt Disney World on Instagram following the opening date reveal for The Beak and Barrel, which can be watched below.
The Walt Disney World Ambassadors didn’t say when Cast Members would debut the new costumes, but it may be when the new tavern, The Beak and Barrel, opens later this month. The bar replaces The Pirates League.
The Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop is Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar. The bar is directly next to the gift shop and the ride in Adventureland.
Walt Disney World has slowly been rolling out new Cast Member costumes across the theme parks. Custodial Cast debuted a new look this spring.
