Universal Pulls Disability Accomodations from $400 HHN Premium Scream Night at Last Minute

Several Halloween Horror Nights guests are reporting that Universal Orlando Resort promised disability accommodations for Premium Scream Night, then pulled the accommodations at the last minute.

No Disability Accommodations at Premium Scream Night

X user @Godstyr wrote in a post during Premium Scream Night, “[Universal Orlando Resort] decided last-minute that disabled guests don’t deserve equal access at Premium Scream Night. Pulling approved accommodations the day of an event is discriminatory, dangerous, and inexcusable. Accessibility is not optional. Do better.” Mary tagged Universal directly as part of the post, which later received a response from Universal encouraging her to send them additional feedback.

Premium Scream Night, which sold out this year, is a one-night-only limited-capacity event held the night before Halloween Horror Nights officially starts. It promises shorter wait times, staggered entry, all-you-care-to-enjoy select food and non-alcoholic beverages, and complimentary self-parking. Guests could also wear costumes this year. Premium Scream Night took place on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Mary expanded on the accessibility issues in a reply to her original post: “You have individuals within the disabled community that were told that this event would allow their accommodations that universal approved but then revoked them from using it the day before. They informed them due to low crowds they wouldn’t be needed however not the case.”

Mary further explained that it happened to her party “as well as many others” and she “spoke directly with guest services to confirm they were pulling this move”. Other guests replied to Mary’s post stating they also were not provided accommodations and complained to guest services.

Universal usually offers the Attractions Assistance Pass (AAP) to guests “whose disability prevents them from waiting for extended periods in a conventional attraction queue environment.” Guests are encouraged to apply for a IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card (IAC) before their trip, although having an IAC does not guarantee the guest will receive the AAP.

The pass is valid during Halloween Horror Nights, and Universal originally indicated it would be available during Premium Scream Night. Mary said it “doesn’t matter the kind of tier of pass you have in AAP they are not accepted tonight while they said they were yesterday”.

X user @ShantellyLace1 (Shantel B) also posted about the removal of accommodations, stating, “Love spending $400/pp on a PREMIUM event, only to be told the night of that there will be no disability accommodations & no refunds issued. This is NOT how to run a business or treat your disabled guests @UniversalORL DO BETTER!!”

Universal replied to Mary and Shantel’s posts with generic responses:

Hello Mary, we sincerely regret your disappointment with the experiences you’re having with us tonight, and will ensure your feedback is passed along to our leaders. We’d love to speak with you further, and invite you to DM us with any additional feedback you may have.

Hi Shantel. We’re disappointed to hear of your experience at Premium Scream Night, and apologize if it wasn’t what you’d hoped. Can you please send a DM with more details about your visit, so we can ensure your concerns are documented and shared with the proper teams? Thank you.

Halloween Horror Nights officially begins tonight — Friday, August 29 — and runs through November 2.
