The Angola colobus monkey exhibit at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is currently closed for a months-long refurbishment.

The habitat is on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and is usually visible from two sides. It’s now blocked by green construction walls and scrim. As usual, the walls are decorated with PPG Paints-branded signs featuring Disney characters and quotes.

Behind the walls, scaffolding covers the structures of the habitat. It is mostly open-air but with nets that prevent the monkeys from escaping. There are platforms, poles, and bridges for the monkeys to climb on.

Cast Members said the monkeys are still at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, relocated to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, but are not visible to guests. The refurbishment is expected to take 4-5 months.

There are some rolling planters and more construction walls on the other side of the exhibit.

Given the scaffolding, it looks like the refurbishment is focused on renovating the habitat’s structures. Some elements might be completely replaced.

The informational sign next to the exhibit is also covered by scrim.
